On My Wish List… Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette

Tartelette

Amazonian Clay Matte Palette

I got an email advertisement from Ulta and in it was the Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette.  I looked at that ad and I almost started drooling.  I just had to have it, but…….

The but is that I had already exhausted my disposable income and then some.  I can’t remember just now what I bought, but needless to say, my money was gone.  Plus, I was trying to exert some self-control.  I was working a new makeup budget and I didn’t want to blow it in the first month.  What’s a woman to do?

Valentine’s Day was just around the corner so I put it on m wish list.  I showed my husband the ad and told him I’d love to have this as a gift.  He thought I had enough makeup but he said okay.

“You order it and I’ll pay for it,” he said grudgingly.Makeup On Aisle 64 On My Wish List Tartelette Amazonian Butter Lipstick Ethereal Pink

Why grudgingly?

He believes gifts should be a surprise.  He says there’s no romance in him giving me a gift that I pre-ordered.  He’s right but this Valentine’s Day, I didn’t want a surprise.  I wanted a Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette and the Ethereal Pink Amazonian Butter Lipstick that was shown in the ad with it.  I ordered it and I let him pay for it.

It’s absolutely adorable.

The first thing I noticed was the colors were light and pretty.  These should be perfect for spring or a light, natural look.  The next think I noticed was they were all matte.  Not a shimmer in the collection. And the Ethereal Pink Amazonian Butter Lipstick that accompanied the palette was just too sweet.  I tried it on right away and the color was great on me. My sister’s been trying to get me to wear a pink lip color for a while, and I think the Ethereal Pink butter Lipstick just might be the one to get me to do it!

Check out the video below to see me show it off.

On My Wish List — Thank you, Santa

Makeu[ on Aisle 64 - On My Wish ListThank you, Santa.

I got everything I wanted for Christmas.  Well….. almost everything!  I didn’t get world peace and my youngest son and his family were not able to be here, but I did get two of the three big things that I had on my wish list – the Clarisonic© Mia 2 Sonic Skin Cleansing system and a new makeup mirror.  I also got some bath and body products, a gift card to Ulta © Beauty, and a picture frame to put family photos in.  I was so pleased.

The week prior to Christmas was crazy.

I had my granddaughter, Jordan, and grandson CJ with me and I had to keep them busy.  Jordan wanted to make Christmas gifts and CJ just wanted to help – with everything.

Plus, nothing could be put under the tree before Christmas Eve and any gift wrapping had to take place very early in the morning.  One of many good things that happened that week was they helped me decorate.  Ornaments, wreaths, and other Christmas paraphernalia was unpacked, put up, (some of them in unusual places) and Mistletoe was hung above the doorway.  They even made signs indicating hugs or kisses were required if you were lucky enough to stand under it.  I had forgotten how whimsical it could be when children are in the house at holiday time.

Christmas morning was all I hoped it would be.

On Christmas morning, we had a quick breakfast of orange cinnamon rolls and coffee, hot chocolate, orange juice, or eggnog.  Then, we opened our gifts with enthusiasm.

Jordie had been wishing for a 3D Doodler pen.  She’d stalked her mom and dad with text messages, photos, and much pleading and was thrilled to find a 3D Doodler among her gifts.  CJ wanted some kind of X-Box thing and he got that, but I think he was most thrilled with his Ninja Turtle hats and shirts.Makeup on Aisle 64 On My Wish List CJ in Ninja turtle gearMakeup on Aisle 64 On my wish list Thank you Santa 3 d doodler pen   I gave my husband a wireless head phone that works with his cell phone and his tablet.  I gave my daughter and daughter-in-law a duffle bag stuffed with beauty supplies, and my son and son-in-law got electronic stuff – wireless headphone or a Roku.  I got to Facetime Justin and his family later than morning and they were pleased with the gifts we had sent out earlier.   Family members from near and far dropped in and we offered them some Christmas cheer – the wassail was warm and the food was good.  All in all, it was a wonderful holiday.

Thank you, Santa.

Makeup On Aisle 64 — On My Wish List!

Makeu[ on Aisle 64 - On My Wish ListOn My Wish List!

A wish list is just that – a list of things that you wish for; not necessarily things that you need, but things you just want.  That’s what I’m doing today — wishing.  Christmas is coming and like the little girl I used to be, I am making a list of things I want.  However, since the items are a bit pricier, my list is much smaller.  Who knows!  Maybe Santa will surprise me.

At the top of my wish list…  Makeup on Aisle 64 -- On My Wish List _ Dooney and Bourke Alto Sellaio Vera

At the top of my wish list is the Alto Sellaio Vera hand bag in chestnut by Dooney and Bourke.  Santa!  Please! Wrap it up and put a bow on it.   For the most part, I’ve been good.

I love my D&Bs and this one is just too sweet.  I love the sleek look, the slim styling, and all the little details that make Dooney and Bourke timeless.  It’s also smaller than what I usually carry, so it won’t put as much weight on my shoulder.  See – I need it!

Makeup on Aisle 64 -On My Wish List - Mia 2 Amethyst Refreshing Daily Cleanse Set The other things on my list are not nearly as pricey.  I want the Mia 2 Amethyst Refreshing Daily Cleanse Set.  I just want to try it.  I need a good facial scrub, some exfoliation and brightening.  I want “smoother, softer, more beautiful skin”.  Okay, Santa.  Bring me that, too.

Makeup on Aisle 64 - On My Wish List - Conair Oval Double Sided Illuminated Mirror

Last but not least, I want a new makeup mirror.  I want one of those portable oval double –sided illuminated mirrors.  So — that’s my list.

What’s on your wish list?
