Glossybox Unboxing….November and December

Makeup on Aisle 64 My December GlossyboxMy Glossybox unboxing!

I was really excited when my first Glossybox showed up.  I couldn’t wait to tear open the package and see what was inside.  The first one came at the end of November, and what with the Thanksgiving holiday and end of semester business, I just could not do an unboxing for you.  Then, the December Glossybox came, and oh, my goodness.  It was amazing!  I am doing an unboxing right now.

One of the first things I noticed and love about the Glossybox is the packaging.  The box is just so pretty!

I opened the November box when my sister, Micky, was here, and the first thing she said was, “Don’t throw that box out!  Give it to me.”  She loves pretty bags and pretty boxes and she was loving this one.

The December box was just as sweet.  It was red, white, and green – designed to look like a Christmas package.  Adorable!  And the contents were even more appealing.  What did I get?  Check out this short Glossybox unboxing video to see.  Loved it!

On My Wish List — Thank you, Santa

Makeu[ on Aisle 64 - On My Wish ListThank you, Santa.

I got everything I wanted for Christmas.  Well….. almost everything!  I didn’t get world peace and my youngest son and his family were not able to be here, but I did get two of the three big things that I had on my wish list – the Clarisonic© Mia 2 Sonic Skin Cleansing system and a new makeup mirror.  I also got some bath and body products, a gift card to Ulta © Beauty, and a picture frame to put family photos in.  I was so pleased.

The week prior to Christmas was crazy.

I had my granddaughter, Jordan, and grandson CJ with me and I had to keep them busy.  Jordan wanted to make Christmas gifts and CJ just wanted to help – with everything.

Plus, nothing could be put under the tree before Christmas Eve and any gift wrapping had to take place very early in the morning.  One of many good things that happened that week was they helped me decorate.  Ornaments, wreaths, and other Christmas paraphernalia was unpacked, put up, (some of them in unusual places) and Mistletoe was hung above the doorway.  They even made signs indicating hugs or kisses were required if you were lucky enough to stand under it.  I had forgotten how whimsical it could be when children are in the house at holiday time.

Christmas morning was all I hoped it would be.

On Christmas morning, we had a quick breakfast of orange cinnamon rolls and coffee, hot chocolate, orange juice, or eggnog.  Then, we opened our gifts with enthusiasm.

Jordie had been wishing for a 3D Doodler pen.  She’d stalked her mom and dad with text messages, photos, and much pleading and was thrilled to find a 3D Doodler among her gifts.  CJ wanted some kind of X-Box thing and he got that, but I think he was most thrilled with his Ninja Turtle hats and shirts.Makeup on Aisle 64 On My Wish List CJ in Ninja turtle gearMakeup on Aisle 64 On my wish list Thank you Santa 3 d doodler pen   I gave my husband a wireless head phone that works with his cell phone and his tablet.  I gave my daughter and daughter-in-law a duffle bag stuffed with beauty supplies, and my son and son-in-law got electronic stuff – wireless headphone or a Roku.  I got to Facetime Justin and his family later than morning and they were pleased with the gifts we had sent out earlier.   Family members from near and far dropped in and we offered them some Christmas cheer – the wassail was warm and the food was good.  All in all, it was a wonderful holiday.

Thank you, Santa.

I know.  I should be talking about Makeup on Aisle 64 here.  I should be telling you all about where we were featured, what the beauty industry had to say, and show pictures of myself with celebrities.  Well, there’ll be time for all that later. Right now I want to tell you about my friend’s daughter — Kitiya Mischo King.

This beautiful young woman is certainly making her mark in the beauty industry. When her mom told me about Mischo Beauty, i knew right away who and what my first feature was going to be — Kit King.  Well, she’s not Kit King any more, or at least not the Kit King I knew then.  Then, she was a red, headed little girl.  Quiet. Well-behaved.  Cute.  Today — she’s a grown woman with a family and business to manage.  Beautiful. Accomplished. The face of Mischo Beauty.  I love it!  Go, Kit!  Keep it moving.

Details. Details. Details.

Here are three important details about Kitiya Mischo King of Mischo Beauty.

  • She loves “fierce fashion and toxin-free nails.”
  • She tried to find some toxin-free nail polish when she was pregnant and couldn’t. (The five toxins found in many nail polish formulas -formaldehyde, DBP, toluene, formaldehyde resin, and camphor—can cause side effects: nausea, light-headedness, headaches, and some of the carcinogens are linked to cancer and birth defects). This smart mom-to-be wasn’t having any of that.
  • She decided to use her degree in chemistry and knowledge gained from working as a licensed Cosmetologist, Manicurist, Esthetician and Makeup Artist to create a product that was 5 free — free of the five aforementioned toxins.

Which one’s your favorite?

I bought the Front Row Nail from the Fashion Week collection.  I always wanted to go to Fashion Week so this one just tripped my trigger.  I love the bold red  and the smooth application of the nail lacquer.  Which lacquer from which of the Mischo Beauty collections do you like best?  Which one is your favorite?  Tell me about it in the comment section.
